Since 2014, The LED Industrial Lighting Co. (formerly Ocip Energy Ltd) has worked on LED lighting projects around the Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Docks. The variety and complexity of the locations is significant, but in every case the aggressive marine environment is a major consideration.
From warehouses to floodlighting, to cranes and oil terminals, there are few areas that have not seen some form of modernisation. The port’s vehicle importation operations, has seen vast areas converted to car compounds with thousands of vehicles being imported and exported every day.
The Port of Bristol is divided in to Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Docks and the estate spans 2,600 acres beside the Severn Estuary. It is one of the fastest growing deep-water ports in the UK, with some impressive statistics to support this claim:
To support these activities, there are a huge array of warehouses, workshops, storage depots, container parks, car parks and roadways. With operations around the clock and throughout the week, these facilities require regular maintenance and obviously good quality lighting. The move to LED lighting has seen a significant reduction in energy consumption, with ongoing projects to change floodlighting around the estate.
LED lighting solutions provided by The LED Industrial Lighting Co. have tackled many of the harshest environmental conditions. We have been able to support several ATEX Hazardous Area projects, as well as LED floodlighting and LED High Bay lighting.
Some examples of the LED solutions from the LED Industrial Lighting company include:
