Regional Energy Efficiency Awards 2019 – East Midlands Small Project
LED Industrial Lighting Company Ltd (LILC) scooped the runners up prize at the recent EEA 2019 awards, held at the Radisson Blu hotel at East Midlands Airport. The Small Scale (<£250k) Project category was the most competitive of the evening, with 7 nominees vying for the main prize.
The Nomination
The DS Smith LED installation at Clay Cross in Derbyshire, was selected for the LILC submission for 2019. The project was one of the first sites to convert to LED as part of the national rollout and transformed the previously poorly lit factory using Dialight luminaires. The extensive LED installation has provided the large paper fabrication site, a 65% reduction in lighting energy, as well as a significantly improved lighting level throughout the plant.

The Award
LILC were represented at the gala dinner and award ceremony on Friday 15th March 2019, by their Managing Director, Aidan Brown. Our project submission was awarded a “Highly Commended” certification, putting us in 2nd place in the category.
